HISTORY
In 2008, Waverley Basketball became the first Association in Victoria to introduce touchscreen scoring, eliminating the need for paper scoresheets in domestic competition. This move not only improved the domestic basketball experience at Waverley for players and scorers, but streamlined the results and adiministration processes.
By 2010, the touchscreen scoring system was complemented by the LCD scoreboard monitors on each court, which display the points and personal fouls for every player involved in the game, as well as audio alerts for personal and team foul limits, and a countdown clock for the final ten seconds of each period.
The website was introduced in 2008, providing up to date news in all aspects of the association. A unique feature of the website was the live scoring steam, giving web users live scores and game logs for games curently taking place at the stadium. This program also displays the game logs for the eight most recent games to take place at the stadium.
The Statistics Vault was another feature of the development, allowing users to view the individual and team statistics for current and previous seasons. This product also enable teams to find new players through the MyEmergency system.
In 2011 Waverley Basketball Stadium was the first to provide free video streaming of all domestic competitions. Teams register to view their games online, and use the interface as a 'team lounge' or 'coaching' tool by including comments and 'mark ups' of the action.
This wide range of services makes Waverley Basketball Victoria's first truly digital Basketball stadium. WBA is proud to privode these services to our teams and will continue improving and developing the user experience as much as possible.
