Injuries and Insurance

INJURIES

Although basketball is defined as a low risk injury sport, injuries sometimes occur and Waverley Basketball has appropriate procedures in place.

WBA's governing bodies Basketball Australia and Basketball Victoria have addressed the first aid requirements of associations and WBA makes ice and bandaids readily available during all competition.  Additional first aid supplies are available with the Referee Supervisor.

For further information please consult the Basketball Victoria participation bylaws found here

Waverley Basketball wish to extend the education and requirements for injuries further than the basic requirements to our members, and have adapted our own policies.

INSURANCE CLAIM FORMS

Waverley Basketball Association in accordance with Basketball Victoria and Basketball Australia, has a close partnership with the insurance company, 'V-Insurance Group.'

If you are injured during a game, please ensure the injury is logged or recorded at the game by a referee or supervisor. This can be logged on the monitor besides the court, or a referee can report it to the supervisor.

Claim forms can be downloaded, however 'Section B - the Association Declaration Section' must be completed by the association to confirm registration before sending to V-Insurance. If this is not done the claim will not be processed as they will not believe the player to be registered for insurance.

Please contact the office during business hours, and we will complete the necessary forms, scan our signed section, and email you all relevant information and forms.

We will require the following information:

Name of Registered Player / Contact Information / Email address or postal address
